Bottin Cartographes, previously known as Planfax, has been developing personalised cartographic products for companies and communities since 1992. Over 7,200 customers have already used our services.
The Planfax catalogue was initially oriented towards printing, fax and minitel.
Very quickly, the agency began using the Internet, offering interactive cartography thanks to important technological investments.
1997: Planfax invents the first web store locator.
The networks were the first to realize the importance of cartography and to adopt our solutions for local searches on their websites.
2005: Planfax merges with Bottin and becomes Bottin Cartographes
Bottin, the editor of local phone directories (main competitor to French Yellow Pages) and Planfax, the cartography expert, began working together to offer a complete range of local communication solutions.
Today, Bottin Cartographes is focusing on mobility: combining the phone directory, cartography, and local information in order to multiply contact points and generate customer traffic in outlets.
2007: Bottin Carto becomes independent
Before the Bottin group buy out, Bottin Cartographes decided to become legally and operationally independent.
Thanks to its experience in the Bottin group, Bottin Cartographes has kept a phone directory approach which often makes the difference: France Telecom data is added to its on-line maps via the "local services" feature, and various points of interest can be integrated into its off-line creations.
2008: Bottin Cartographes enlarges its offer and consolidates its multi-channel positioning
The variety and flexibility of its catalogue allow it to provide solutions for even the most ambitious projects. It was with this in mind that, in November 2008, Bottin Carto expanded its offer with the creation of Géopano, its department for permanent local signs.
2008 is also the year that the Map In Box was invented. It's an exclusive procedure which allows routers and customizers to generate their own maps for their mailing campaigns.
2009: Technological convergence and "mapmania" are everywhere
Precursor of multi-channel cartography for direct marketing, renowned for its know-how in terms mobile rendering, and popular thanks to its drawn maps, Bottin Carto is now more than ever a major player on the market.
